When you're getting ready in a rush, there's nothing worse than a cluttered bathroom. It's so much harder to find that skincare bottle or make-up brush you need when your products are strewn across the room, or hidden in some tiny drawer you've never seen before.

This is why I'm such a huge fan of having a vanity – with the right design, you can maximize your storage space without compromising on style, especially because so many options are available.

There are so many styles to choose between – from the decorative designs at Anthropologie to the sheer variety offered by Lowes, there are plenty of brands offering diverse ranges. With so many options, it's easy to feel spoiled for choice, but luckily for you, I know exactly the stores where you can buy the best bathroom vanities.

I've spent hours searching the sites of the top retailers and taking stock of their selections, and I've found eight options that sell bathroom vanities to suit every size and style of space.

Warranty: Warranty should be checked per item, but Lowe's Protection Plans offers additional coverageDelivery: 7-10 days, free on orders over $35Returns: Most products can be returned within 90 days with proof of purchaseBest for: Versatility

A simple search for 'bathroom vanities' yields over 12,000 results at Lowe's. With so many options, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. Luckily, Lowe's specialist filters help to narrow the search.

You can shop for bathroom vanities by width to ensure you only see the pieces that will fit into your space. Lowe's stocks everything from small to standard to super-sized vanities. You can also shop for specific features, such as integrated electrical outlets to plug in razors or charge toothbrushes, or soft-close doors and drawers for nearly-silent storage.

If you're a first-time renovator, and you're keen to avoid bathroom renovation mistakes, you'll love Lowe's how-to blogs which take you step by step through all manner of DIY tasks.

Pottery Barn puts their bestselling bathroom vanities right at the top of the page, so you can see the pieces that have been bought and loved before.

Most of Pottery Barn's best vanities are shaker-style or transitional, combining classic materials like wood caning with all the modern conveniences. Eco-conscious shoppers will be pleased to hear that every purchase of a wooden vanity plants a tree.

Before you buy, it's worth noting that while their bathroom vanities arrive pre-assembled, Pottery Barn recommends professional installation. So, if budget is a key factor in your search, try Walmart or Target.

If you're shopping for a bathroom vanity that makes a statement, you'll find it on Anthropologie. While most of their vanities come in natural wood shades, there are a few painted pieces in blush pinks and blue-grays.

These units are ideal for anyone who wants to experiment with colorful bathroom ideas without redecorating the whole space. The vanities here are certainly more decorative in style compared to the likes of Lowes or Home Depot although this is reflected in the price.

Buyers on a budget will be disappointed to hear that Anthropologie offers limited control over which units you see. Since there are only two price categories, you can only shop for vanities that cost more or less than $500. There's no option to set your own upper and lower limit.

Where most home stores stock vanities in modern, traditional, and transitional styles, Walmart gets much more specific. You can shop for coastal vanities to complement your beach bathroom decor or classic vanities with contemporary features that fit right into mid-century modern homes.

While other retailers on this list, such as Anthropologie and Pottery Barn, focus on aesthetics, Walmart factors in affordability, and lets you set your budget on a sliding scale.

You can fix your upper and lower limits down to the dollar. The best bathroom vanities cost hundreds, rather than thousands, of dollars at Walmart, ideal for anyone working on a budget.

I'm going to be honest: West Elm's selection of bathroom vanities isn't for everyone. They can be on the expensive side, and the brand specializes in mid-century and contemporary styles in neutral colorways, so lovers of eclectic designs would do best to look elsewhere.

However, if you're looking for well-made, durable designs with a focus on construction and top-quality materials, you really can't go wrong with West Elm's classic collection of bathroom vanities for rooms of all sizes.

Wayfair is one of my favorite spots to shop because they are always way ahead of the current interior design trends at affordable prices. A quick search for 'bathroom vanities' gives you over 31,000 results, but you can sift through them by price, brand, size, type, assembly, and so much more.

So, if you're in the market for a colorful option that you don't have to set up or want a rustic, wooden look for your master bathroom that will require professional installation, both options are available at Wayfair, which makes the process of finding the perfect bathroom vanity for your home easier than ever.

Wayfair also offers a favorable price range on bathroom vanities, providing options for every budget. Much like Lowe's, designs are less unique and decorative than the likes of Anthropologie, but their selection, which features a vast array of brands, ticks the box for every design style.

Was $402.94, now $309.32 at Wayfair

+ Ideal for small spaces- Requires assembly

If you have the space and need the storage, invest in this 48-inch bathroom vanity, complete with a trendy quartz top for a major statement.

Another retailer offering affordable options, a quick search on Target's website a breadth of designs in different sizes, shapes, and styles. While you won't find the same authentic, rustic style as you might at Pottery Barn, Target's selling point really is it's variety.

Quick filters make shopping and finding your ideal bathroom vanity quick and easy – narrow down your results by price, size, material, color, and even style. Some of the options have really clever storage solutions, including narrow compartments that can be pulled out to make useful space, perfect for small bathrooms.

It's worth noting that price reflects quality here – their mid-range pieces are a safe bet for a balance of good design and affordability, but don't expect the same craftsmanship that you would get from more luxury brands.

Was $495.99, now $377.99 at Target

+ Suitable for rustic schemes- Limited storage in the top compartment

Narrow in size and featuring a sleek basin, this bathroom vanity is a more affordable alternative to luxury retailers. With three storage compartments offering varying space, it's a great choice for bathrooms in need of character.

Was $625.99, now $463.99 at Target

+ Maximum storage- Only offered in white or gray

Storage is in abundance with this bathroom vanity. Made from waterproof materials, featuring soft-close doors, and labeled easy to assemble, this elegant option will please even the most novice DIYers!

Was $452.99, now $340.99 at Target

+ Ideal for tiny bathrooms- Only one color available

Small bathrooms will benefit greatly from this bathroom vanity. Taking up just a small amount of wall space, it comes in two sizes, so you can select the ideal measurements for your scheme. This modern design will complement contemporary schemes.

We chose the best places to buy a bathroom vanity by looking at different factors customers consider when purchasing. We selected a variety of brands that offered a balance of affordability, high-quality design, and more luxurious, style-led brands for anyone shopping with a particular design aesthetic in mind.

We also carefully considered each brand by its reputation as a seller, the delivery and returns options, as well as the warranty offered to ensure customers were covered in unfortunate (and unlikely) cases where the product might be faulty or have parts missing.

This buying guide has been curated by a team of experts, including our Kitchens and Bathrooms Editor, to ensure recommendations of the best places to buy a bathroom vanity are coming from our specialists in the area.

Choosing the best bathroom vanity will depend on your criteria – style, budget, and materials all need to be considered when choosing the right design for your space.

Budget

The first thing to consider is your budget. Are you looking for something luxurious, or something more affordable. If you're not looking to spend a lot, look to brands like Target, Wayfair, Lowe's, or Home Depot, which stock vanities at different price points and allow you to filter by price.

Style

If budget is less of a concern, or you're simply looking for a vanity that embraces your bathroom's interior design style, some of the more luxury brands that have their own, well-known aesthetics will be more suitable.

If you're looking for high-end and quality craftsmanship, look to brands like Anthropologie for decorative, vintage-inspired designs, Pottery Barn for farmhouse rustic style, or West Elm for something more contemporary.

When buying a bathroom vanity, make sure you check the delivery and returns policies, and also make sure there is some level of warranty included.

It's also important to check that the materials used to make the vanity in question are suitable for your bathroom – being waterproof and watertight is essential – and check whether professional installation is required, as this will be a big factor in your budget.

And, most importantly, always check the measurements – twice! It's always a hassle having to repackage and return items because you didn't get the measurements quite right.

As you can now see, there are plenty of retailers offering bathroom vanities that perfectly blend practicality with aesthetics. Once you've found and purchased one of these bathroom vanities, it's time to make the most of your storage space. Organizing a bathroom vanity should keep clutter to a minimum. You can do it yourself, or invest in one of the best vanity organizers to do it for you.
